Employee Services ManagerPOSITION
Summary:
This position is responsible for a portion of the day-to-day Human Resources functions, including employee records, insurance benefits administration, application management & on-boarding processes, background checks, CDL DOT requirements compliance, drug test recordkeeping, and miscellaneous employee-related paperwork functions.
Maintains compliance with Federal and Idaho State Labor, Employment, and Wage laws.
Coordinates with payroll functions.
Position requires weekend and holiday work year round.
Work schedule will vary based on time of year and operational status of the resort.
OTHER
Responsibilities:
Serves as an internal resource for HR data including creating reports in HR & payroll software packages (Workday and UKG).
Assists Employee Services Manager and HR Director with employee & manager training on HR related topics, employee relations and communications, employee counseling, performance evaluations, conflict resolution, drug free workplace compliance and other employee issues.
Other duties as assigned.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTONS:
Works closely with the Employee Services team, department managers and supervisors to ensure proper and timely HR processes and other HR-related needs.
Works closely with accounting department for payroll and benefits billing needs.
Communicates regularly with all Schweitzer employees.
Physical Demands:
8-10 hour shifts.
Can vary physical position for comfort.
Will lift up to 25 pounds frequently.
Will bend, squat, kneel, climb, twist, and reach above shoulder level frequently.
Will use hands for simple grasping and fine manipulations.
Sensory requirements are speech, vision, touch and hearing.
Time is spent inside - 85%.
Exposed to weather and office hazards.
HR System Administration:
This positions is an internal expert resource on the company's HR Information Systems (Workday and UKG).
Will be responsible to help in the technical administration of the system and assist others in using the system effectively.
Is a key resource on this system along with the Employee Services Manager, HR Director, and Accounting department staff.
Unemployment:
Reviews and responds to unemployment claims notices, completes all related and applicable forms, facilitates and may participate in telephone hearings and appeals.
Recruitment & On-boarding:
This position will assist with recruiting all job vacancies at Schweitzer.
Assists department managers with the posting and updating of job openings internally and externally via company website, and occasionally using recruiting agencies and publications as needed.
Assists with application process, including reviewing incoming requisitions, applications and resumes, facilitating the recruiting and hiring process.
May communicate with applicants via email, telephone or US Mail as needed.
Paperwork & Employee Files:
Updates forms and compiles paperwork packets for incoming employees.
Checks completed packets for thoroughness and accuracy.
Responsible for I-9 compliance and new hire reporting as required by Federal and Idaho State law.
Maintains database of paperwork and orientation attendance status and will assist in processing employee ID cards (season passes).
Maintains and monitors employee files continuously and responds to job references and employment verification requests from internal and external inquiries.
Assists employees and department managers in accessing HR file information, while maintaining strong privacy protection proceduresCommunication & Recognition:
Actively communicates with department managers regarding deadlines and required HR processes to ensure efficient workflow.
Identifies challenges and opportunities to senior management.
Produces bi-weekly newsletter and distributes with payroll.
Assists with occasional employee parties and other employee appreciation programs, events and functions as needed.
Participates in review and update of employee handbook annually, as well as other company policies and HR-related forms.

JOB SPECIFICATIONSSKILLS:

EDUCATION:
College degree in related field (Human Resources, Sociology, Psychology, Business Admin.

) or equivalent experience preferred.
Experience:
Human Resources or related experience required.
Experience in the resort industry preferred.
LICENSE NEEDED:
Valid drivers license insurable by Schweitzer's insurance carrierMACHINES OR TOOLS OPERATED:
Telephone, copy machine, fax machine, computer, printers, folding machines, other office machines, company automobiles.

REVIEW SCHEDULE:
This position and the person filling it will be evaluated at least once per season.
Salary:
$37,500- $49,500 per year.
Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
