Manages, supervises and develops long and short-range plans to achieve goalswithin available resources; plans and organizes workloads and staff assignments;trains, motivates and evaluates assigned staff; reviews progress and directs changesas needed.
Supervises project design; analyzes reports, maps, drawings, blueprints, tests, andaerial photographs on soil composition, terrain, hydrological characteristics, and othertopographical and geologic data to plan and design projects.
Uses computer assisted engineering and design software and equipment to prepareengineering and design documents.
Inspects construction sites to monitor progress and ensure conformance toengineering plans, specifications, and construction and safety standards.
Prepares a variety of studies, reports, related information and recommendations forimplementation or decision-making purposes; conducts site inspections andevaluations.
Act as the lead civil engineer or civil engineering representative in complex projectdesign teams.
Coordinate with internal team members and stakeholders, external engineers, foreignutilities, the public, and Federal, state, and local jurisdictions by providing expertadvice and input on a wide range of complex issues related to civil engineering.
Conducts field visits to aid in civil engineering design approaches.
Performs design of civil engineering projects.
